* may my life be like a roll of toilet paper…..long & useful *
O Hai Thar!
No matter who you are, if you judge anyone, you have no excuse. When you judge another person, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the same things.[Romans 2:1]
This month’s song is an elixir it’s an invitation to forget about all the hassles of adulthood, as humans we have made our life more and more complex. The solutions for these complexities are relatively more complex, resulting in a vicious circle.
The song urges its listeners to return to the simplicities of life. Remain content with who you are and what you do. When we know who we are and believe it, our greatest dreams are possible. When we doubt ourselves, question our worth and undermine our self value, our greatest victory will be worthless.
Know your values, and be guided in all things by your own conscience. If you encounter situations that threaten your personal moral code, act in ways that are consistent with your own principles. Try to thrive rather than to survive, try to flourish rather than make it and try to stand tall rather than just stand up.
Stay true to yourself and you’ll go far, affirm that “I am my greatest hero.”
Everyday I realize that I would be nothing without music. Music has played a major part in my life, it gives me butterflies making me fly high. It inspires me and sends an adrenaline rush to my body which eventually burns my soul.
With all that said I’ve decided to post a song for each month to signify my mood.
The song that I chose has a soothing effect on me when I feel boxed in and numb. It reflects the positive and negative aspects of my life. Here the writer expresses the concept of duality, we are never just one singular thing, but that we encompass all emotions and attitudes at all points in life. She juxtaposes this with the concept of a hand in pocket (inactive and disengaged) while the other hand remains active and engaged with the world. Regardless of the emotions and actions we make and tell, the world is full of everything good and bad, engaged and disengaged.
I hope you’ll find joy and inspiration from the songs that are posted here.
Last night my starshine’s mood was swinging awfully low, undoubtedly it was Aundra’s quest to comfort him. In the midst of trying to soothe him from such pain he stopped me dead in my tracks and uttered “this song I dedicate to you.” The words were so profound, the keys penetrated, and the mood was so intense.
Just when I thought I had the fortune to witness all his inner beauty, he revealed more of himself to me and I fell in love all over again. He’s my daily dose of inspiration the longer I know him the more I love him. Two souls weaved together on one single thread called life. It was a miracle that I came to know him and because of his thoughts and words I begin to accept life as our. I learnt that when you say “our” only then will you understand clearly.
“In this life we cannot do great things. Only little things with great love” ~ Mother Teresa
