The Bigger Picture

There have been some things happening lately that I don’t understand, Lord. I know you see the bigger picture and that all that happens is apart of your plan. But sometimes, I need a reminder. Help me to focus on the promise that all things work together for good to those who love You.

Praise God, from Whom all blessing flow.

God of eternal love, I believe your promises. I trust you and know that you sent Jesus Christ to die for my sins. I want to confirm my reservation and I look forward to the greeting committee at the gate to usher me into the room. Thank you for your assurance. Amen.

Lord you make the burdens more bearable

Dear God, I may not like the things that have changed; I wish my life had not altered. But it has. Remind me that because you love me and are in control of my life, this phase of my life can be good as or even better than the way life was before.
Amen.

God you’re my everything.

Wise, loving God, you have so many different ways to draw us to yourself. But no matter what method you use, you’re always like a caring father, extending your loving arms toward all of us—including me. Sometimes you have to warn or threaten. No matter how you speak to me, please help me hear you and respond to your love. Amen.

God Speak To Me

God of all hope, forgive me when I become discouraged or want to give up. Deliver me from self-pity and renew my hope. Enable me to see that I can not only make it through the troubles of today, but you give me hope and comfort to make it each day. Amen.

I can always count on you.

God, I have no idea why some things happen or how minor decisions determine my destiny. But I do know you’re involved in my life, even in those dark moments. Remind me of your love, which never leaves me. Amen.

Living a meaningful life with God…Life is good.

God, sometimes I think I’d like to do big, wonderful things for you. Help me to realize that big resullts aren’t what you ask. You ask me to faithfully use the abilites and the opportunities you’ve given me. If I use them, I know I’ll have a full and meaningful life. That is, I know I’ll be happy. Thank you, God.

Who, being love, is poor?

I’m Here…….. (I am really okay with me)

We cannot change the color of our skin. What we can change is how we feel about it.
We cannot change a pain-filled past. What we can do is change how it affects us.
We cannot change how others may feel about who we are and where we’ve been.
What we can change is how we see it, how we use it and how others use it to our benefit or detriment.

So much of our time, energy and attention is wasted trying to convince other people how wrong they are about us. We spend so much time trying to show them who we are NOT, and we lose sight of who we really ARE.
It all begins with our willingness to acknowledge that we are really fine, just the way we are.
